Car Accident Attorney in New Braunfels
Direct Access to Trial Attorneys From the Start
A collision can create medical, transportation, and financial problems all at once. While you seek treatment and arrange vehicle repairs, an insurer may request a recorded statement, dispute responsibility, or offer a settlement before the extent of your injuries is clear.
Our attorneys can evaluate the crash report, photographs, witness information, medical records, vehicle damage, lost income, and available insurance coverage. You work directly with Blake Brunkenhoefer and Michael Mathis, giving you access to trial attorneys from the beginning.

More Than 2,000 Cases Handled Since 1992
Brunkenhoefer, P.C. Injury Attorneys has represented injured people in Corpus Christi and across South Texas since 1992. We’ve handled more than 2,000 cases and recovered over $200 million for clients.
Blake Brunkenhoefer and Michael Mathis work directly with clients rather than assigning their cases to junior associates or case managers. We prepare every claim as though it may proceed to trial, even while pursuing a resolution through insurance negotiations.
Collisions & Injuries We Handle
A crash may result from unsafe driving, dangerous roadway conditions, a defective vehicle, or the actions of several parties. We handle claims involving:
- Rear-end, head-on, side-impact, intersection, and rollover crashes
- Distracted, reckless, or impaired driving
- Hit-and-run collisions and uninsured or underinsured motorists
- Vehicle defects, malfunctions, and highway defects
- Rideshare, bicycle, pedestrian, bus, truck, and multi-vehicle accidents
When injuries are serious or fault is disputed, we examine how the wreck occurred, who may be responsible, and how the injuries have affected the client’s work and daily life.
How We Investigate & Prepare Car Accident Claims
We review police records, scene and vehicle evidence, witness accounts, and documentation of medical care, employment losses, and insurance coverage. We also compare disputed accounts of fault with the evidence supporting each claimed loss.
Our attorneys communicate with insurers, assess settlement proposals, and explain important developments throughout the case. If negotiation doesn’t resolve the dispute, we prepare the evidence and legal arguments needed for litigation.
Our firm holds an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, its highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards. Blake Brunkenhoefer is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the Multimillion Dollar Advocates Forum. He’s also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.
Our FAQ
-
Should I just take the money the insurance company offers me?
There are many cases in which this is the best course of action. For one, if you were not badly injured or weren’t injured at all and your car has minimal damage, you might not want or need to seek further damages, especially when that can take months. However, if an insurance company makes a low first offer, then you may want to consult an attorney who can give you an accurate estimate of the worth of your accident. If they refuse to offer more than an initial settlement and you need more than that to recover, an attorney at your side could help you get all that you need.
-
Why do I need to hire an attorney?
While there are many methods to receive compensation without an attorney, time and time again we find that insurance settlements offer far too little for our clients to recover and fighting a legal battle is often too complex for many people to take on themselves. If you had minimal damage to your car and were not hurt, then you probably don’t need an attorney. However, insurance companies and the responsible party will try many tactics when avoiding paying you for your suffering. With an experienced attorney, you can fight to receive every penny you need to recover.
-
How much is my case worth?
This question can be difficult to answer on a broad scale because of the absolutely unique nature of your accident. However, the types of compensation you can seek can be fairly similar, from case to case. For one, you can seek damages for any kind of medical bills you incurred, or lost wages from the time you had to spend away from work while recovering. If the accident left you unable to work, you can seek compensation for loss of future wages. If you foresee needing physical or emotional therapy, the estimated amount can also be sought. And there is more than just monetary losses: compensation for your emotional suffering and pain may be sought as well.

What the 2024 Crash Data Shows
The Texas Department of Transportation recorded 1,605 crashes in New Braunfels during 2024. These included eight fatal crashes, 42 suspected serious-injury crashes, and 267 suspected minor-injury crashes. The city also maintains a Street Safety Action Plan focused on reducing fatal crashes on local roads.
Crash totals don’t determine whether an individual has a valid claim. What matters is who caused the wreck, what injuries and losses followed, which insurance coverage applies, and whether the evidence supports the account.
